Microsoft PhotoStory 3 is a free Windows download, which is easy-to-use software on a PC. It allows you to upload and edit photos, add text, add narration, transitions and arrange your slides in any order to create an awesome slideshow. Great for narrated presentations or photo slideshow.

- Introduction to our school -- Let students take pictures of people and places around the school. Import the pictures and let students narrate (from their written script), add some music!
- Students created paintings for an art projects and added their own creative music to showcase.
- Book Review: Have students give book reviews about their favorite book or reviews about their favorite part of a certain book.

Audacity
Audacity is an audio editor for recording, slicing and mixing audio. It is a free download for Windows and Mac operating systems.

Windows Moviemaker
Software that allows you to create slideshows using photos, text, music, transitions, and more! Click the "start" button and look in "all programs" to find the software. A step-up from PowerPoint.

Google Sketchup
Google Sketchup is a free 3D modeling software program. Our students have been using this software in the STEM Business class. They have created a 3D model of their business inside and out.

Screencast-O-matic
Capture and record yourself on Windows or Mac for free (see image for Pro account). I used this as a tutorial program to show formatting in a Word document. Students also used this for a Math project to show their work and discuss at the same time.

- Teachers, create a "how to" tutorial (great for Math basics, a directory for formulas, etc.). Great for storing on your website to have students access as a resource.
- Have students create a short lesson on a concept you are teaching (great for formative assessment).

Google Earth is a free download where the user can view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3-D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean.

- Students have added placemarks to create a tour of the country they are learning in Social Studies.
- Students created a site-seeing tour of important cities while noting important facts and photos about the city.
- Explore the animal kingdom and endangered species with the National Geographic layer and other content.
- Create annotated place markers indicating location of school and points of interest in their town such as the local fire and police stations, the city library, local parks, and museums.
